30 Days of Self-Improvement • April Challenge • Update 1

It's only been a couple of days, but so far, so good!

Waking up early
I woke up at 5am on both days, but today was significantly more difficult. I didn't nap yesterday, but I may need one today. With a 5am wake up time, I tend to only get around 6 hours of sleep, which is about an hour and a half less than normal for me. Once I wake up, I go through the 20/20/20 formula as recommended by Robin Sharma, which involves 20 minutes of exercise, 20 minutes of self-reflection, and 20 minutes of personal growth. This should take only one hour, but currently takes me about 1.5 hours. I'm not getting ready or doing any chores, but I do take care of Truffle and Lulu. They can be very distracting! I'm still working on my morning routine, and I'll do a video on that once I've figured it out.

Stopping the purchase and consumption of processed junk food
I've been doing very well in terms of processed junk food, and I think this is improving my energy levels and my skin. Time will tell if there will be any lasting changes. For the purposes of this challenge, processed junk food includes potato chips, bagged popcorn, chocolate bars, candy, rice cakes, tortilla chips, cookies, etc.—basically anything that comes in a box or bag that you would keep in your pantry and consume as a snack. I’m still going to be eating bread, cheese, yogurt, crackers (e.g., with my goat cheese appetizer), etc. If you are planning to take on this challenge, please feel free to set your own rules!

Daily updates will be posted via Instagram stories @Authenblissity. I’ll also be posting periodic updates and standalone videos (on topics related to waking up and healthy eating) on YouTube.
