Timeline

Aug 26/20: Warm welcome to Dracaena 001, also known as Lucky Bamboo! I purchase five stems and planted them in potting mix, even though I’ve only ever seen Lucky Bamboo sold growing in water. When I was reading about how to care for this plant, I learned that it is a species of Dracaena, so it should do better planted in soil. I had kept Dracaena 001 in water for its first few days in our home and I’m hoping the water roots will adjust well to the new potting medium.

Feb 6/21: Dracaena 001 was doing so well — the bamboo stalks were so green and healthy. The leaves were growing so beautifully. Then I decided to top up the soil with some contaminated potting mix and two of my five stalks turned yellow. :(

Feb 6/21: Here are the two stalks that started turning yellow from the top. I’m still not sure what I’m going to do about these.
