TIMELINE

Sep 20/20: I wasn’t planning to purchase any more plants this year, but I spied this little darling when I was shopping for supplies, and I couldn’t resist. This is a Ficus lyrata, also known as a fiddle-leaf fig. This variety is all the rage among plant enthusiasts, but I’ve never been too interested because it’s normally grown as a tree and we don’t have room for that. Then, I found this Ficus lyrata dwarf plant at a great price! It’s a sweet tabletop size that’s perfect for our tiny condo, so I figured I would bring it home to see what all the fuss is about. I’ve read that this plant is a bit finicky. Fingers crossed it will survive.

Oct 12/20: I’ve watered Ficus 001 once since bringing it home and it seems to be doing well. It hasn’t grown much so I may read up a bit more on this one.

Jun 19/21: Ficus 001 looks pretty much the same as the day I got it. A few of the smaller lower leaves have dropped off.

Jun 15/22: Ficus 001 finally started growing some new leaves and once they start coming out, they grow FAST. This is a lovely plant.

Jun 15/22: Ficus 001 has grown noticeably taller!
