TIMELINE

Jul 8/20: I was so excited to find Pilea 001! As part of exercises and activities in The Artist’s Way this week, I decided to add five houseplants to our home. Pilea 001 is the fourth one. The price was amazing, so I bought one for me and one for my friend. This plant is so delicate and whimsical.

Aug 6/20: There’s been a bunch of steady growth on Pilea 001. New leaves grow from the centre of the plant, while older leaves start to droop and yellow. I’ve had this happen with three leaves, and I just snip them off close to the main stem. There haven’t been any babies on this plant yet, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

Aug 6/20: Older leaves start to yellow and droop. Mine have also developed large black spots when they’re ready to go.

Sep 18/21: Pilea 001 has been growing rather steadily. I thought I saw another baby ready to come out but I don’t think it made it. The first baby is doing quite well though!

Sep 18/21: Close up of baby! I don’t feel super ready to propagate it just yet but perhaps soon.
