My favourite challenge
Streaks of pink clouds in a pale blue sky.
I’ve done a lot of 30-day challenges. I’ve enjoyed many of them, and it wouldn’t be hyperbole to say that each has a special place in my heart. But my favourite of all time is the one I created last year.
This was a challenge that accompanied me through the last 31 days of 2025, with a gentle self-reflection exercise every day to help me re-centre myself before the new year. It was basically my longstanding December routine wrapped up with a beautiful, intentional bow.
As soon as I completed the challenge, I knew I wanted it to be an annual practice. I started working on the updated edition this September, when I was full of back-to-school creative energy. I got a lot done. But then everything happened with Lulu and I wasn’t in the right mindset to continue working on the challenge.
So, I left the challenge untouched for two weeks because there was no part of me that wanted to work on it. I waited another couple of weeks but my creative energy was still out of reach. Two more weeks went by and I considered scrapping the challenge altogether this year.
Then, on November 7th, I felt the tiniest spark. I pulled up the work I had done back in September and the spark grew. And I’ve been working on the challenge every day since then.
This challenge is my gift to myself. I know how easy it is, how permission-giving it is, and how much confidence it provides me — as I practice tuning in to myself during what some might consider to be the busiest time of the year. It’s a way to prioritize myself, to tell myself that my boundaries and my dreams matter.
I’m so pleased to announce that 31 Days to 2026 will start on December 1st. The challenge is free to join, and I’d love your company on this gentle self-reflection journey.
Before I go, can I let you in on a little secret? Even though I call this a “challenge,” this is likely the easiest and most delightful one you’ll ever encounter. The heart of this challenge is to connect with your inner wisdom, and that means modifying the exercises to what you want to do each day, skipping days, or even stopping the challenge entirely if it’s not for you.
If you joined me last year, this year’s challenge will be very similar, with a few updates that I hope will make the experience even better. ☺️
This month’s reflective questions
As we enter the last month of 2025, what’s a gift you’d like to give yourself? What are some of the ways that you can wrap up your year with a beautiful, intentional bow?
