TIMELINE

Aug 7/20: Hubby surprised me on the eve before our 11th wedding anniversary with Pothos 005! He stopped by a plant store on his way home from work and requested a satin pothos, which is interestingly enough, neither a pothos nor a philodendron. But I digress. They didn’t have any so he bought this cute marble queen pothos instead. I was surprised, impressed, and touched that he made the effort. We already have this variety, but I love it so much that I’m happy to add another to our plant family.

Since this was such a thoughtful gift, I wanted to give it a place of honour. I found this ceramic container (that occasionally doubles as a vase when we purchase fresh cut flowers), took the lid off, and popped Pothos 005 in there. The nursery pot fit perfectly and I love how the container adds a beautiful structural element to the plant. It’s perfect.

Sep 20/20: Pothos 005 has grown a bunch! There are currently three new points of growth, which seems to be a decent number on this sweet plant.

Sep 19/21: Lots of updates on Pothos 005! I ended up cutting off the long trailing vines on June 25th and propagating them, with the intention to combine the mama and baby plants down the road. Unfortunately, this plant has been battling mealy bugs for a little while, but I’m sure I can get that all cleaned up with a bit more diligence. It’s interesting that the shades of green are so different between mama and baby!
